Leonardo DiCaprio scored a big win at the 2016 Golden Globes.
The star of The Revenant received the award for Best Actor in a Drama Movie for the film.
The actor beat out Bryan Cranston (Trumbo), Michael Fassbender (Steve Jobs),Eddie Redmayne (The Danish Girl) and Will Smith (Concussion).
Calling it a "terrific year in film," DiCaprio congratulated the other actors in the category before talking about his time filming The Revenant.
"Two years ago we found ourselves submerged deep in nature with all of its complications and all the beauty that it gave us cinematically," said DiCaprio.
DiCaprio also thanked director Alejandro Iñárritu and costar Tom Hardy for their work on the film.
Of his friend Hardy, DiCaprio said he knew in real life his costar "would never bury me alive and leave me out in the cold to die like that."
The newly single star also extended his gratitude to his loved ones and said he would like to share his award with "all the first nations people" represented in The Revenant and "all the indigenous communities around the world."
"It is time that we recognize your history," said DiCaprio.
"It is time that we heard your voice and protected this planet for future generations."
As for whether DiCaprio's Golden Globes recognition will lead to his first Academy Award win remains to be seen.
Nominations for the 2016 Oscars will be announced Thursday.
Beyond his win, DiCaprio also had a few more notable moments during the Golden Globes telecast on NBC.
The star appeared to get caught giving Lady Gaga some giggly side-eye as the singer walked to the stage to claim her award for Best Actress in a Limited-Series or TV Movie.
He also made the Internet collectively sigh with romantic nostalgia as he reunited with Titanic costar Kate Winslet in a cozy Globes moment.
We can only imagine the celebratory hugs we'll see if this is Leo's year at the Oscars.
