LOOKBOOKS : Office AW12

 Just a look around the new Office collection for AW12 and its....interesting. There are some shoes, like the above ballet slipper that make me wonder why anyone would bother to construct something so pointless or the gaudy looking awkward ankle boots below that looks like the 70s trend from last summer crawled up and died in it.

 

 But there are some shoes in the collection that are lovely - mind you, out of a possible 57 images to show you - I gave up trying to pickthe good ones and just included a few howlers! I almost included a pair of zebra print fake diamond studded kitten heels just for the hell of it at point.

 As I said, there are some gorgeous pieces here - the above boots scream Rick Owens to me and are something I would seriously consider investing in. If we had an Office down here instead of the world's tiniest schuh...

 Spikes are in for next season - I wonder if spikes on shoes are driven by the impressive popularity of Jeffery Campbell and the lita style spiked booties? I mean Louboutin had spikes on shoes for years and no one gave a shit because people like Kim Kardashian insisted on wearing them.  Then the JC booties pop up and suddenly the whole high street cares.

Overall, its a pretty hit or miss collection. There are some genuine howlers here and some really nice shoes. However, you have to search pretty hard for them and to be fair, most of the nice ones are not actually designed by Office but concessions or other brands. There is a pretty strong divide and you can pick out the ones not designed by Office - which you shouldn't be able to do. Oh well....maybe next season lads....
