Matt Damon’s Going Interstellar, Too

Seems everyone truly will jump at the chance to work with Christopher Nolan.

The director’s Interstellar is already packed with A-List talent.

No surprise there since the film –  about a group of explorers who make use of a newly discovered wormhole to surpass the limitations on human space travel and conquer the vast distances involved in interstellar voyage – is being helmed by one of the best directors working today.

I mean, we’re talking about a cast led by Matthew McConaughey that also includes Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Topher Grace, David Oyelowo (Lee Daniels’ The Bulter), and Wes Bentley.

And, now, Matt Damon as well.

It’s a “small” part, but a testament to the draw of the Nolan that gives credence to that thing stars say: If (the right) so-and-so calls upon ’em to mop the floors on set or cameo for them, they will show up.

No doubt Damon also will use his time on set to pick at Nolan’s brain, for it seems the former has found the project with which he finally will make his directorial debut (he had hoped to do so with the underrated Promised Land, but scheduling conflicts got in the way).

Damon has his eye on the Chris (Argo) Terrio-written The Foreigner, an adaptation of a 2008 New Yorker article about a real-life man who was gunned down in the escalating violence in Guatemala – and who, get this, left behind a tape that implicates the president, his wife, and other close aides in his slaying.

Way to keep it interesting, Matty!
