Justin Bieber is desperately trying to fill the Kanye void in our hearts

Justin Bieber, aka. the prince of pout, is making a desperate play at Kanye West's style of ranting. Unfortunately for the young pop star, he just needs to stop. Now, please.

Bieber went on a rant about Instagram Tuesday night during the final stop on the European leg of his Purpose tour, explaining to the crowd why he quit the social media site back in August.

"I don't want to get my Instagram back," he told the audience. "Instagram is for the devil. I think hell is Instagram. I'm like 90 percent sure. We get sent to hell and we get locked in the Instagram server. I'm stuck in the DMs and trying to find my way out."

Look, I get it. The monotony of fans only wanting to see you post pictures of your body has to get tiring. I'm a big believer that there is a lot more to life than the selfie. But Bieber's rant against Instagram just came off as weird and disjointed to me.

If you want to talk about the problems of Instagram then talk about them in a mature and insightful manner that will encourage your young audience to really think about the feeding frenzy. To simply call Instagram the devil isn't exactly a voice encouraging and inspiring change. It just seems like Bieber is making himself the victim with his talk of DMs.

It also feels vaguely familiar in the wake of West's exhaustion troubles. And if Bieber is just trying to mimic West for some attention then I'm definitely not on board.

This also isn't the first time Bieber has thrown a concert hissy fit.

I'm all for celebs voicing their distaste for Instagram. There is more to life than vanity, to be sure. But Instagram can be used for way more than just selfies. It's a powerful platform for voices to be heard. Maybe Bieber could get back on and use it to develop his opinions on the issue.

Do you think Bieber has a point about Instagram or is he just ranting to rant?
