Here's What Went Down at Astroworld Festival 2019 Performances by Kanye West, Pharrell, Playboi Carti and more, plus exclusive installations.

This year’s edition of Travis Scott‘s Astroworld Festival had some low moments (fans trampled outside) and some headline-busting highs (Kanye West unexpectedly joining Scott on stage), ensuring that the second edition of the event anything but boring either way. With a portion of the sold-out event’s proceeds donated to the Workshop Houston charity, the 50,000 or so multi-national attendees could even pat themselves on the back for attending the star-studded event.

Hosted in Houston’s NRG Park, the single-day Astroworld Festival 2019– America’s largest artist-curated happening of its kind — brought out immensely popular performers like PharrellDave ChappelleMigos, Young Thug, Marilyn Manson, Playboi Carti, Megan Thee Stallion (a Houston native herself), Bun B, Paul Wall, Sheck Wes and Pop Smoke, to name only a fraction of the dozens of fan-favorites that took the stages throughout the day. Guests also indulged themselves in amusement park rides inspired by Scott’s youth spent at the original Astroworld Amusement Park that was once located on the same grounds, with the Ferris wheel, drop tower, carousel and swing ride abetted by art installations, muralists and roaming performers.
Special activations included a custom Nike basketball court, with art sourced from the festival’s Workshop Houston charity, a 35-foot-high planetarium that projected 360-degree, 4K-HD laser projections synced with previously-unheard material from Scott, a black-lit arcade and various midway and carnival games inspired by Scott’s musical output. A key attraction was the Screwed Up Records pop-up, which gave fans a hands-on experience with the record label helmed by the dearly-departed DJ Screw, offering exclusive merch and various mixtapes produced by the extremely influential Houston-based DJ.

Among the many headturning moments at the festival, little else can compare to the first look at Scott’s Air Jordan 6 “Cactus Jack” in yellow.
